As Roadmap Recipes grew, we noticed something: every city we visited, every flavor we explored, every bartender we talked to—there was always one moment when someone leaned in and said:

Infusions allow us to take the same craftsmanship that defines our smoked Old Fashioneds and bring it deeper into the bourbon itself not to cover it up, but to elevate what’s already there.

Our Infusion Philosophy

Most infused whiskey you’ll find falls into one of two categories: too sweet, too artificial, or so overpowering it doesn’t even taste like whiskey anymore. That’s not our world.

At Bourbon & Brushes, infusion is an art form with rules:

Infusion is not a disguise. It’s a spotlight. Our blends are designed to amplify the vanilla, caramel, oak, spice, fruit, and warmth that bourbon already carries.

2) Natural ingredients only.
No shortcuts. No syrupy additives. No mystery flavorings. We work with real herbs, spices, botanicals, dried fruits, and cacao—ingredients you can recognize, pronounce, and respect.

3) Small-batch control.

Our Standards & Categories

Not every bourbon infuses well.

Best characteristics for infusion:

90–100 proof (lower = weak extraction, higher = harsh)
Clean, balanced profile (not overly oaky)
No heavy finishing barrels (port, sherry) for first infusions

Ideal profiles:

Wheated bourbons
Straight bourbons with vanilla/caramel forward notes
Young-to-mid-aged (4–6 years)

We want bourbon that welcomes ingredients, not fights them!
