Aroma Infusion for Premium Cigars

A Flavor Architecture Elective Course

This elective explores the controlled use of aromatic vapors, including spirits, to influence the sensory profile of premium cigars without altering their structure, chemistry, or nicotine content.

It is our goal to Design aromatic environments for cigars using spirits and natural elements.

We explore aroma infusion for premium cigars as a sensory and design practice, focused on respect for the leaf, not modification of the product.

What we DON'T Do:

  • This in NO-WAY is "Bourbon-Flavoring Cigars"
  • We do not sell infused cigars commercially, we simply instruct on infusion techniques and philosophies.

What You Learn & Experience...

It is our goal to create the next level of flavor sensory, this is a Bourbon & Brushes Ritual. We are focused on sensory education and an experience.

Participants learn how to:

  • Create safe, closed aromatic environments
  • Respect the integrity of the tobacco leaf
  • Understand vapor diffusion and absorption
  • Pair cigars and spirits intentionally
  • Document and evaluate sensory outcomes

This module treats cigars not as a consumable to be manipulated, but as an agricultural and cultural artifact to be respected.

What we cover by making this a part of our Infusion Division:

  • Vapor vs liquid infusion
  • Tobacco sensitivity
  • Humidity management
  • Flavor pairing
  • Sensory evaluation

Flavor Design Principles

We treat cigar infusion like aroma layering, not flavoring.

Bourbons that work best:

  • Vanilla-forward
  • Caramel-forward
  • Light smoke, not heavy peat
  • No fruit, no sugar, no additives

We Avoid:

  • Cinnamon bombs
  • Cherry / flavored bourbons
  • High sugar spirits

Our Goal: Complement the tobacco, not overwrite it.

Ethics Statement

At Bourbon & Brushes, we believe that working with materials that carry health, cultural, or social weight requires a higher standard of care.

Premium tobacco is an agricultural product with deep cultural history and complex health implications. We approach it with respect, restraint, and responsibility.

Our principles in this module are:

1. Respect for the Material:

  • We treat tobacco as a craft product, not a novelty or commodity to be manipulated for effect.

2. Non-Promotion of Harm:

  • We do not promote tobacco use, increase nicotine exposure, or encourage consumption. We focus on aroma, culture, and design... not behavior.

3. Transparency

  • We make no claims about health benefits, wellness, or enhancement. Our work is descriptive, not prescriptive.

4. Legal and Cultural Responsibility

  • We operate within legal frameworks and cultural sensitivity, recognizing that tobacco is regulated and contextual.

5. Stewardship Over Exploitation

  • We design systems that preserve, not exploit, and educate rather than sensationalize.
  • This module exists to deepen understanding, not to normalize or incentivize harmful behavior.
